Multihaus Fusch

“The municipality of Fusch thus sets a striking, edgy sign of contemporary alpine architecture on the road to the Grossglockner.”

Wolfgang Schwarzenbacher, excerpt from his opening ceremony speech

A compact, white-shining cube houses rooms for the fire brigade, traditional music band and alpin mountain rescue team. The vehicle hall, training and rehearsal rooms, which are the largest rooms with corresponding facade exposure areas are oriented to the south and can optimally used the passive solar energy collection point.

In the forefront there is a sunny court, which can be extended to an area for having festivals. The small foyer on the upper floor, which opens up to a training room, club facilities for mountain rescue and rehearsal rooms for the music band, is illuminated with daylight through the overhead skylight.

Training and rehearsal room have a higher ceiling height due to an inclined roof surface, which offers technical and acoustic advantages, and further emphasizes the view into the valley. The functional and contemporary, low-volume building results in a good surfaces / volume ratio and economical construction and operation values.
